VIOLIN STORIES: Selected Reading from ‘Violins of Hope’

Presented by Nashville Repertory Theatre. Free & open to the public.

May 26, 2018  3:00 pm  Main Public Library Auditorium

Three Nashville Repertory Theatre actors and two Nashville Symphony musicians join forces for a moving and impactful sharing of selections from the book Violins of Hope, which details the stories of some of the instruments on display in the Nashville Public Library’s current exhibit. Join Chip Arnold (Inherit the Wind), Matt Garner (Death of a Salesman), and Lauren Berst (Sense and Sensibility) as they bring to life these not-to-be-forgotten stories.  Joined by soprano Lea Maitlen, violinist Zeneba Bowers and cellist Matt Walker will perform on two of the instruments in the Violins of Hope collection, in an experience that integrates word and music in a way that only artists in performance can do.

PLEASE NOTE
Metro government is modernizing the parking garage adjacent to the Main Library. Approximately 360 spaces will be added and other improvements will be made to the garage. Several parking spaces are temporarily closed for the duration of construction. Project completion is expected in late spring of 2018. Due to the temporary parking space decrease, please allow extra time when planning your visit. We also recommend using Nashville MTA’s free Music City Circuit buses, which make regular stops at 5th Ave. N. & Church St. Click here for more information.
